Version 2: Cranberry Asian Pear Crumble

(This is a very outdated post. I actually typed up this post even before our Hong Kong trip! And I've forgotten all about it. So only now I remember to click 'Publish' )

27 October 2010 - Cranberry Pear Crumble

My aunt gave me 2 big Asian Pears and asked me to bake something with it. One of them was already wrinkly and a little too soft to eat offhand. Decided to bake the same thing as yesterday (26 Oct was yesterday at the time of post) - Pear Crumble since all of us love the streusal topping so much.

So I made a similar dish, but smaller portion. Just substituted the pears and apples with Asian Pears. But this time I forgotten to add in the dried cranberries into the filling. So I ended up sprinkled the dried cranberries on top of the streusal toppings.

And I also baked some using two ramekins just for hubby & I.

Like I said this is my ideal comfort food. Nothing taste much better than having this warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Hubby and I ate the ones in ramekins while watching DVDs. And Shern enjoys the soft sweet pear too.

I think you really should try this at home. This is a really easy and simple recipe. For the fillings, just chop the fruits into chunks and toss them with a little brown sugar and corn flour.
For the streusal toppings, just mix the ingredients together and sprinkled them on top of the filling and it is ready to be baked in the oven!

Easy peasy right? You can find the recipe here.
