Fairytale Romance

Was talking to a friend online yesterday and the movie Enchanted came into our conversation. I was telling my friend how I love fairytale movies where the story begins with 'Once upon a time...' and ends with '...and they all lived happily ever after.'

Needless to say, I've watched all the fairytale cartoons many, many times before. My favourite being Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and etc.

So do I believe in fairytale? Well, basically I'm not someone who believe in 'love at first sight'. I believe love starts in a friendship. That is why I believe your husband should not only be your soulmate, but he should also be your very best friend.

But there is no harm in watching fairytale movies and go all goo-goo-gaa-gaa over them!

My husband although is not very gentleman-ly (ahem!), he provides for me - not only financially but emotionally. I know I can share everything with him. He is someone who can laugh with me (and not at me), and he can also feel my sorrows whenever I am down. All in all, I think he is my very best friend.

I've read and heard everywhere that most people take their spouse for granted. They don't take notice that he works hard for the family, or that she goes to an expensive haircut to look good for him. Or with kids around, they don't spend twosome quality time together anymore.

I hope I am not someone who ends up like them. I want to cherish our time together. To stay strong after all the hardship we've been through. Even with a kid on the way, I want you to know that I will still love you very much. I will still make time for you and be a good wife to you.

I also want to take this opportunity to say this to you: PETER, THANK YOU FOR LOVING ME!

An excerpt from my friend's blog:

There was one time someone asked Sara, “Is it OK, after you’ve married, that the wife to have a close male friend, coz he’s like the bestest of friend since forever?”

Sara just replied, “If that guy is the bestest of friends, why the heck didn’t she marry him in the first place?? Your hubby is SUPPOSED to be your bestest friend. Period.”

I'm glad that Peter is ur best friend. :)

I was reading, and reading, and reading, and then I suddenly realised, it's for Peter to read. Kekeke.

Yeah. When I get married, I wanna print this on my invitation card:

'Today I married my best friend.'... or something similar. :)

So if some guy has >1 best female friends, does that mean multiple wives? :p

anyhows, i somewhat believe in soulmates, and i believe for each person there are a couple (but limited) fitting souls. But we dont always get what we want...so we make do with what we have, which often still end up beautiful. In short, I hope CT is your best friend & soulmate :D
