Facebook, MySpace, Blogger, etc are getting very popular among teenagers and working adults. Is subscribing to these social networking sites pose a danger to you? Well, it actually can if you leave your sites open to public. What you might not be aware of is employers are starting to google potential candidates online before hiring them!

Scary, huh? So if you do not want to be googled, do NOT keep the default privacy settings (which grants all users in the network to view their profile). Change it to "private" or password-protect your profile/sites.
And please keep in mind this: If there is a photo which you do not want your mum or/and dad to look at it, do not upload it online! *winks*
For me, I'm OK and confortable for the time being as Peter is my boss and he knows I subscribe to Facebook, Friendster, Blogger, etc. Until I find another 9-5pm job, then I will start to edit my profile and password-protect this blog :)

Dearest Ah Kong, Ee Kong & Pho-Pho
It has been many years since the passing of my grandparents Ah Kong, Ee Kong & Pho-pho. I am glad that I have many happy and wonderful memories of them.
Ah Kong - His name was Cheong Kam Kee and he was my mum's dad. Mum used to tell me he was very strict with his children when they were small. My mum and her siblings were most afraid when it was time to let him sign their report cards. Those who got red writings on their report cards would not only get a lecture but a lashing as well.
However, the Ah Kong I know is nothing like what my mum described him. Mum said he had mellowed down throughout the years.
He would buy me ice-creams everytime I hear the ice-cream man ringing his bell and peddling into Macalister Lane.
He was China's supporter during the 1992 Thomas Cup and I would always "compete" with him during China vs. Malaysia match.
I still remember the pride in his voice when he showed everyone my Std.1 report card that showed a list of As for my semester 2 school results. He photocopied it and hung it in his workplace for everyone to see. He was even prouder than me for my achievement!
It had been more than 10 years since he passed on but he had etched an image of how a grandfather figure should be - kind, loving and proud of his grandchildren.
Ee Kong - His name was Tan Gin Hean and he was my dad's dad. Like Ah Kong, he was very strict and fierce with his children. He was someone who believed that good discipline (with rotan i mean!) is the key to educate your children. He may not be very wrong indeed as all of his 7 children are all good-mannered and successful adults in their own way. I myself is very proud of my dad whom my Ee Kong groomed him to be the most kindest dad in the world.
Ee Kong used to visit me quite often in his motorcycle when I stayed in Macalister Lane when I was small. He would buy me the tidbits and asked me to kiss him everytime he came over.
Without Ee Kong, I would never been able to attend the extra ballet classes I had near the ballet exams months. He took the trouble to fetch me to Greenapple Ballet Academy to and fro. I remembered once my slipper fell off during the ride and he stopped by the road and picked it up for me (asking me to stay on the bike as it was dangerous!).
Ee Kong has been gone for nearly 10 years now and I believe many of us still miss him a lot.
Pho-pho - Her name was Chong Weng Kwai and she was the person I love most in the world and still is. Since young, she took care of me. I am who I am today mostly because of her guidance and care during the first 5 years of my life. Even after that, she continued to give me advice on how to be a better person.
Pho-pho was a very kind person. She always forgave people and liked to look at the bright side for all things. She is someone who always gave me the drumstick while she ate the breast/bones.
I still remember all the cantonese rhymes and poems we used to chant together. She was also the one who taught me how to fold paper toys to play when I was bored.
I used to cry whenever I was to leave the house to stay with my parents to go to kindergarten during weekdays. I would say to my Pho-pho "Wave to me until far-far until I reached the other destination". Imagine how attached I was to her!
I remember i used to tell her "pho-pho, I will buy you big,big car to sit and big,big house to stay when I grow up" and she would always smile and said she would wait for me. I am sad that I am not able to fulfil my promise to her before she passed away 4 years ago.
However, I know that she is very happy that I am living a happy life now and I will never, ever forget her. Until now, I still miss her...very much!

We're back from KL!
We are finally back to Penang after 4 days trip to KL. We had a great time there - the highlight being the Beauty & The Beast Musical Broadway.
After the income tax payment, I felt broke. So no more shopping during this trip to KL. We just spent most of our money on food, glorious food!

1. Curry fish balls at Hong Kong Food Culture @ Low Yat Plaza is one of my favourites - I've never tasted such delicious curry fish balls. I always crave for more.
2. Little Penang Kafe @ Suria KLCC serves good, authentic Penang food. Both the Hokkien Mee & Nasi Lemak had the ooomphh taste!
3. Fried Prawn Noodle at Food Republic @ Pavilion is unique and nice. RM 7 a dish is a little tad pricey to me though!
4. I always visit John King for their Durian tart. Super duper yummy for durian lovers
5. Free buffet breakfast @ Swiss Garden Hotel is nothing special - just the normal eggs. bread, buns, sausages, hams etc kind of buffet.
6. Who could resists the melt-in-your-mouth mouthwatering J.Co Donuts? My favourite being Oreos flavour...yummy!
Jen & Wen brought us to Naili's Place - a place where is turns out to be cozy and nice. Not only the place deserves a thumbs up, the food did not disappoint us as well.
- Darlin's Tumasek Nasi Lemak tasted great - loved the chicken rendang and the sambal.
- ABC (I dunno why KL ppl call their ice-kacang ABC. To me, ABC is a soup. Haha) was one of the best I've ever tasted. The strawberry syrup tasted special and they have the "mata kucing" sprinkled on it as well.
- Jen's "Big Bite" burger looked small - but when you bite on it, you can feel the juicy beef being inches thick!
- Rojak was so-so. You can find better ones in Penang. RM6 for a small dish.
- Wen's tomyam maggi was delicious as well. Sour & spicy enough for my liking.
- Min's fish & chips was my favourite. Generous portions of crispy fish fillet and fries. Nice tartar sauce.
Jen & Wen also took us to Eye On Malaysia. On those of you who does not know what it is, The Eye on Malaysia is 60 metre tall portable Ferris wheel installation at Titiwangsa Lake Gardens, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The wheel comprises 42 gondolas (including 1 VIP one) and was unveiled in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2007 on January 6, 2007 by Malaysian Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. The wheel allows visitors to experience a 360-degree panoramic view of Kuala Lumpur and over 20 kilometres of its surroundings including KL Tower, Istana Budaya and Petronas Twin Towers, during a 12-minute ride.
I must say that the Eye On Malaysia looked spectacular from the outside. But when you are on it, one word describes all - BORING!
It was dull and boring during the 12-minute ride. There was not much view to see (except for the Petronas Twin Towers) and we have to share the gondola. 12 minutes seemed long when there is nothing to do. rm15/pax is pretty pricey i think.
The next day, while waiting for Wen at Suria KLCC, Min & I walked to the KLCC Park and took some pictures while admiring the landscape and the majestic Petronas Twin Towers. Until now, I still feel "WOW" everytime I look at the Petronas Twin Towers. Don't they make you proud to be a Malaysian? :)
And now the highlight of all - Beauty and the Beast Broadway Musical!
A few of my friends told me that the show was "ok ok nya" before I watched it. But when I watched it with my own two eyes, it was simply marvelous!
The casts sang all the familiar songs from the Disney movie and they added in quite a few new songs too - which I find it good. They added some twist and turn in the acting. Belle was petite and had a beautiful voice - sweet and clear. I love Gaston, much more in this musical than the Gaston in the movie. Lumierre was the crowd's favourite. The way he shook his hips and cracked jokes was simple crowd-pulling. I find the Beast a 'lil "gay-ish"..hehe. His singing was not loud and powerful enough and he was not very frightening.
I laughed at their humour, dabbed my eyes during the touching moments and was very sad when it was all over. The 3-hour show (includes 20 minutes interval) was worth the RM120 i paid for my seat.
Credit must also be given to the orchestra group - those playing the magnificent instruments which contribute a great portion to the show's success!
No more pics for the next 2 days as Shu-Min fell sick. Not much fun photographing sick girl and visit to the clinic, right? :P

Justin & Siow Sen's ROM
It was a beautiful event - Peter's best friend, Justin chose not to be a bachelor anymore and is willing to be "controlled" by his newly wedded wife Siow Sen :)
Actually, this beautiful day was on 28th June 2008, which was my mum's b'day as well as Ricky's Rockwill's new office warming. Wah...this signify how "Ong" that day was...so many celebrations on the same day.
Justin & SS's ROM was at Moral Uplifting Society and a few close friends and family members gathered there to witness the occasion. SS looked ever so lovely in her white dress and her
usually non-make up face looked radiant. Justin's eyes were sparkling and he looked so happy.
After that, we adjourned to CRC Restaurant for lunch.

Going to KL tomorrow
Min, Darlin' & I will be going to KL tomorrow Thursday and will only be back on Sunday. We will be watching Disney's Beauty & The Beast - The Broadway Musical's last show tomorrow evening!

DVDs @ Batu Feringghi
Last week we went to Batu Feringghi to stock up our DVDs collection. Haha. Mum & Min (DEE TV Manager) tagged along as well. Realized the big food court at the Eden housing area was knocked down. Yes, you heard me correctly. It was a total knock down...down to nothing. The whole place was being fenced up with the "no trespassers allowed" sign and only mud and sand left in the area. So we couldn't park our cars there anymore, instead we parked a little further into the Eden housing area.
It was not raining that night and many stalls were open. We stopped by a few stalls to admire some of the unique lamps on sale and other decorative items. 3 main DVD stalls were open. We headed straight to our favourite DVD stall and asked for what we want.
"Prison Break Season 3 ada?"
"Smallville Season 6 & 7 ada?"
"24 Season 2 ada?"
The stalls had a better deal this time. Buy 5 free 1.
Besides the series DVDs, we bought some DVD movies as well. We ended up paying RM140 for our our DVDs. Shocking huh? Juz a short drive up Batu Feringghi makes us RM140 poorer.

Darlin' is sick
Darlin' is sick. He has gotten a terrible flu and sore throat when he woke up this morning. He complained of a dry and painful throat and he sneezed non-stop. Everytime he sneezes, he will continue to sneeze at least another 6 times without stopping. I touched his forehead and he seemed to have fever too. Poor Peter.
We went to AIG office as usual at 8.30am and stayed there 'til 11am - to finish off my work as we will not be here tomorrow and Fri. The air-cond there was freezing. I already felt cold although I wore a long-sleeved shirt. I think darlin' must have felt worse.
After AIG, we went to do some errands and then ended up in town to "tar pau"(takeaway) Koay Teow Th'ng. The Koay Teow Th'ng was delicious - so much "liao" - minced pork,green vege,pork liver, etc. RM3 for a small bowl, and RM4.20 for a big bowl.
When we reached home, after gobbling down his Koay Teow Th'ng & a big glass of water with honey, I gave him some flu tablet and sent darlin' to dreamland. He is now sleeping like a baby.
I decided to skip Line Dancing class @ IDT for today. I need to nurse darlin' back to health. If not, we may have to miss our KL trip tomorrow.
