Shern the Four Year Old Ring Bearer

22 June 2013 - The handsome Ring Bearer

It was Chun Hoer & Pauline's Wedding last Saturday, and Shern was requested to be their Ring Bearer. It was Shern's first time being a Ring Bearer!

I had prepped him quite some weeks ago, and Shern was all excited playing the role as the Ring Bearer. He felt important and was excited to walk the isle.

But on the big day itself, Shern was a little nervous.
We did not attend the rehearsal the night before, so we went early to get prepared.

He was dressed smartly in a long-sleeved shirt, and black pants. He was also wearing a black vest with a black bow. Very smart indeed!
Pauline's sister, Viviene was the one who helped prepare Shern. She was very nice and friendly indeed. Shern liked her.

Shern also helped to open the car door, though he had a hard time opening it. Hehe

Shern with the flower girl. The flower girl is 10 yrs old, way bigger and taller than my tiny sized Shern.

Shern getting all ready. He even gave us a V sign while holding the ring pillow :)

But after like 15 minutes of waiting, Shern got a little restless and couldn't wait to perform his role. And it was getting a little bit hot, as Shern was also wearing a few layers of clothes.

And then, at 11am, the ceremony started. Shern walked in front, and he was happy to walk first. Number one, he said.  And then he was followed by the flower girl, and then the bride and groom.

Sorry for the blurry photo. Shern was walking a little bit too fast (He just couldn't walk slow!).

Shern was doing a good job. Walked down the isle alone (though a lil bit too fast!), and stood at the groom's side as rehearsed earlier. Well done!

After that, he came to me and we continued with the whole ceremony.

It was a sweet and simple church wedding.

Chun Hoer & Pauline looked great!

And Shern was given a small token of appreciation.

Khye was there too. And I was glad mum tagged along, as she took care of Khye while I concentrated on Shern.

Khye was sleeping half of the whole ceremony. Hehe. It's so nice being a baby, isn't it?

Shern was happy seeing his friends there, though he was getting a little tired.

Erm, my tiny-sized big boy.  :D

The kids had a good time running around the church, and when my mum asked him if he was feeling hot, Shern said 'Yes, I'm getting warmer and warmer and warmer!' lol.

And it certainly didn't help that Shern was wearing long-sleeved shirt and long pants. And also they turned off the aircond and fan immediately after the service. Bah.
But we were all still waiting there to take photos with the bride and groom.

Shern was sweating like crazy after the running round. And when we proceeded for luncheon at the church cafeteria (the place was hot and stuffy), Shern was a little moody as he was hot and sleepy. So we left straightaway after the food.

And after a good 2 1/2 hrs nap, Shern was all cheerful again, and was ready to attend their Wedding Dinner Reception at Gurney Hotel.

Shern looking all smart and happy when we were about to go for the dinner.

Shern took a photo with the bride and groom!

More photos of Shern with his friends.

And Shern is a hard-core 'yum seng' fan! He didn't like the orange cordial there, so he yum seng-ed with his water bottle, and shouted his lungs out!

I think Shern had fun that day.

And I'm so proud of my big boy for doing such a great job as the Ring Bearer!
Well done, Shern!

Today, Shern remembered how much fun he had in church, so he told me this: 'Mummy, next time please bring me to church, I want to go to a cold church. I don't want to be sweaty!'

Lol. He likes to church but not the sweat. My sweet and innocent boy.

And thank you Chun Hoer & Pauline for asking Shern to be your Ring Bearer. You gave him a most memorable experience!

Sabariah's Wedding

Sabariah is my colleague when I was working in EI back in 2004. She is a very humble and quiet person. And she is my very good friend until now. I am glad we still keep in touch. Last Saturday was her big day and she invited us to her wedding. I brought Shern there as well. I woke him up from his nap because it was getting late. Thus he was a little cranky at first and made a fuss. He did not want to change his clothes and refused his milk. But in the end, he drank only a little milk. So when we reached there, he was hungry. He ate a lot of rice. And he ate quietly, sitting on the chair (no baby chair avail) and was feeding himself the rice.
Since all the dishes were spicy, that was the only thing I gave him. (He refused the biscuits and egg tart I brought for him, preferring rice). He spat out all the fruit and finished 2 plates of the flavurful rice of this amount. He was really hungry.
And of course he made some mess while feeding himself, since he was not used to using a plate (usually using bowls which makes it easier to scoop). So after eating, he spent some time picking the rice that dropped on the chair and threw them on the floor. Haha.
Then he ate some jellies that were packed inside the gift bag which consists of bunga telur and some other snacks.
Lastly, a photo with the beautiful bride.

CONGRATULATIONS on your wedding, Sabariah!

Watching Our E-Session Video Again

I was watching our E-Session Video again, and was falling in love with it all over again! This video was taken in 2007 when we won the Photo and Video Lifestyle Session Contest by Ke Wynn from Whizarts & Kee from Weddingstory.

Although more than 3 years ago I could still remember how stiff we were, how unnatural we were when stood in front of a photographer & a videographer.
But it was really their professionalism that the photos and video turned out great. Great enough for us, that is!

For the e-session photos, for those interested, you can view them here.

For the video, I've embedded it here.

This video was taken in 2007 at Penang Botanical Gardens

I was still the giggly-schoolgirl then. So happy being engaged.
3 years down the road, I'm just an ordinary fat homemaker. Gah!

But I'm still so happy every time I finish watching this video. I'm sure Kee produces more canggih videos nowadays. This video is like ancient technology. Haha.

But because this video has the still-slim me and still-slim hubby being crazily in love, it is priceless to me! ;)

Congrats to the Double A's - Andrew & Ai-Leen

Attended Andrew & Ai-Leen's big night yesterday 23 Oct 2010 @ Gurney Hotel.
Their wedding was spectacular - nice deco, lovely flowers, special handmade favours, great band as well.

Lovely choice of bridesmaids and flower girls line-up. All marched in with lovely smiles on their faces.

And what I like most is that macho Andrew actually carried the bride in during the grand entrance! Isn't it one-of-a-kind!

A photo of us girls that night! Let's see who is missing. Erm..Siean Huey & Becky is not here. Who else?

It was also Shern's first time attending wedding dinner. Come to think of it, it is also my first time attending wedding dinner this year.

The 3 of us

Shern was being himself at all times - meaning, naughty and cannot sit still. He sat in his high chair for the first 15 minutes because I brought out his favourite toy cars for him to play. I also gave him some biscuits to munch on while waiting for the food to be served.

After that, he decided that it was boring sitting up there and he wanted to stretch his legs. So in the end, Peter & I took turn entertaining him. Haha.
But he was not being too bad. He did not throw a tantrum or make a big fuss. He was just simply being him - the cannot-sit-still, active little toddler!

We left at around 10pm because we were rushing to attend another friend's daughter's B'day party. (More about it later)

Meet-Up with Daniel & Family

We met up last Friday at Penang Swimming Club as Daniel & family was back from KL for Shawn & Michelle's wedding.

It was my first time to PSC's Chinese Restaurant since the reno.
It was a pleasant dinner, with nice food and nice ambience. Price was reasonable too but I wish the portions were a lil bigger.

It was also probably the last time we got to see Siow Sen before she delivers. Her tummy is huge - anytime soon.

Aiks..I look like I am also pregnant in below photo.
