Souvenirs from South Africa
My parents and Min went to South Africa last month to visit Wen. It was a 3 weeks holidays for them. By looking at the photos they took, I think they had a fabulous time. You can read all about them in Shu-Min's blog. (she is still updating them until now!)
Anyway, they bought and brought back many of South Africa's lovely handicrafts and souvenirs. Please don't be shocked by all the things they've brought back. You wouldn't believe they would fit into their baggage, but they did without exceeding the baggage limit!

New Maternity Clothes
After Soo Huey called to cancel our lunch appointment, I went shopping at Gurney with mum and ah yee. Ended up shopping for nearly 5 hours and I think more than 6 toilet visits :P
Highlight of the day - New Maternity Clothing for me.
I am so glad I went shopping for maternity clothes with my mum. She is not those old-fashion type. (in fact my ex-colleagues always comment that my mum is more 'YEH' than me!). Mum is modern yet decent...which is what I like!
Bought a few staples - basic beige pants and blue jeans. And also 2 tops. And 2 dresses.
I know maternity clothing are expensive...but didnt expected it to be SO expensive. I mean if there are no discounts, just a simple top costs more than rm100. And this is just top only.
Mum is so nice to 'sponsor' me a few hundred ringgit. Even after the 'sponsor', I still spent quite a lot (way more than what I would spend for clothes). Peter said he nearly pengsan when I told him how much $ i swiped with his card. Hehe. Birthday present mah...so he cannot complain, right?

Bz Bz Bz
Soo Huey came back from Melbourne last Thursday. Bee Shin is coming back from Melbourne too next week. And I got to know the Hui Gnoh is already back from KL to Penang about a week ago.
Everybody seems to be back from everywhere for CNY 2009 end of the month. There is so many people I want to meet up with. And with CNY just around the corner, there are also many things to do. (springcleaning haven't really started yet for my own hse *grins)
The hustle bustle of these few weeks is so nice. I seem very pretty tied up with everything. Sometimes there is no time to breathe as I am so busy meeting up with friends, fetching my sis here and there, following Darlin' for appointments, going to office, accompanying mum, go back to mum-in-law's hse, etc etc etc. Everyday is so packed!
And with Bee Shin coming back next week, I think I will be more busy than ever. Because I know I am going to spend a lot of time with her! I can't wait to see her ;D

I Felt His Kicks and Punches
Today is another day of 'first' - I felt our little angel doing some kicks and punches inside my belly!
Actually, Dr. Eric did asked me whether I felt the baby move during my most recent gynae visit. I said 'No' as I felt nothing and even thought it is much too early to feel anything. I was like thinking that I may only feel it when I am 6-7 mths pregnant.
But then when I felt little angel doing somersaults in my belly, I felt so, so, so good. My sis, Shu-Min happened to be in our house and I let her feel it too. And of course little angel's daddy also felt him showing off his acrobatic skills.
It is such a contented feeling - such a miracle to feel our creation moving inside me. I think no one will ever know how I feel like.
Happy and amazed and contented.

Maternity Clothes
I think I am in dire need of maternity clothes. Ok...not in dire needs...but in need definitely. I had been following some of the pregnancy blogs (of people I don't know) and some of their entries are really educational. I learn a lot from these blogs...and I am learning still.
Before now, I made up my mind to spend very little on maternity clothes. I mean, imagine spending a few hundred ringgit on each of the clothes which you can only wear for a few months. And then you start packing them away. What a waste of money, right?
So i set my mind to wear my usual clothes until they don't fit anymore. And then just buy some cheap baggy clothes that will do.
But after reading one of the blogger's post, now I have a totally different opinion when it comes to purchasing of maternity.
That blogger is now pregnant with her 3rd child. She was having the same thoughts as me during her 1st and 2nd pregnancy. She wore her usual clothes until they didn't fit. And you know what happened? She ruined all her usual clothes (because they stretched and went all loose in the tummy area) and all the cheap clothes also stretched and didn't last. All in all, she had a feel-bad pregnancy when it comes to fashion!
I think I learnt a lot from her. I am going to buy some basics and everyday staples...those in classic styles and basic colours. I want to feel-good during my pregnancy. Furthermore, I am going to have more than 1 kid, right? So I can still save them for my 2nd pregnancy! :D
I am going to ask for maternity clothes from darlin' as my birthday present! :)

Fairytale Romance
Was talking to a friend online yesterday and the movie Enchanted came into our conversation. I was telling my friend how I love fairytale movies where the story begins with 'Once upon a time...' and ends with '...and they all lived happily ever after.'
Needless to say, I've watched all the fairytale cartoons many, many times before. My favourite being Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and etc.
So do I believe in fairytale? Well, basically I'm not someone who believe in 'love at first sight'. I believe love starts in a friendship. That is why I believe your husband should not only be your soulmate, but he should also be your very best friend.
But there is no harm in watching fairytale movies and go all goo-goo-gaa-gaa over them!
My husband although is not very gentleman-ly (ahem!), he provides for me - not only financially but emotionally. I know I can share everything with him. He is someone who can laugh with me (and not at me), and he can also feel my sorrows whenever I am down. All in all, I think he is my very best friend.
I've read and heard everywhere that most people take their spouse for granted. They don't take notice that he works hard for the family, or that she goes to an expensive haircut to look good for him. Or with kids around, they don't spend twosome quality time together anymore.
I hope I am not someone who ends up like them. I want to cherish our time together. To stay strong after all the hardship we've been through. Even with a kid on the way, I want you to know that I will still love you very much. I will still make time for you and be a good wife to you.
I also want to take this opportunity to say this to you: PETER, THANK YOU FOR LOVING ME!

It's Getting Bigger & Bigger!
Golly! Suddenly I feel my belly is getting so much bigger. How can that be?
I mean it was just yesterday when I felt that my belly is growing too slow and today I find my belly so much bigger than I remembered!
I feel that my belly is so 'tegang'...if you know what I mean. I feel like my belly is going to burst anytime!

My Pregnancy Blog - Little Angel
I have created a pregnancy blog to keep track of my little angel and my own pregnancy. For those of you who are interested, you can click on http://littleangel2009.blogspot.com/ at the sidebar titled 'Shu-Yin's Pregnancy Blog-our little bundle of joy'.
Ushering 2009 @ Gurney
Chun Hoer, Justin & SS, Alan & Bee Wooi, and Peter & I decided to meet up to usher in the new year. We had chu char dinner at one of the coffeeshops along Gurney Drive.
After a sumptious meal, we proceeded to Crepes for their desert. Being greedy, we ordered 4 deserts & 1 savoury. Look at all those delicious-looking deserts. Who can resist ordering them right?
We then walked over to the beginning part of Gurney Drive. We took some photos while waiting for our clocks' hands to show 12 midnite. Below is one of our favourite pic.
At the stroke of midnight, there were fireworks display being shot up on top of Gurney Plaza.
Ahhh.....so nice to usher in the new year with friends and darlin'!
Belly getting bigger?
The hourly maid that came to my house fornightly exclaimed this afternoon that my belly is getting bigger. Is that so? I can't seem to realize that my belly is getting bigger. It still seems a 'lil too small for an 18 weeks pregnant lady. I guess by looking at myself everyday, the changes will not be obvious.
Darlin' Peter too could not really see any difference in my belly. He kept on joking that our little angel would rather 'stay' inside daddy's 'bungalow' than mummy's 'apartment'! Hehe

Lower Abdomen Pain
I am having cramp-like pain in my lower abdomen. I read somewhere that it may be caused by the stretching of ligaments that support the uterus. It says experience mild cramps, while others experience achiness or a pulling sensation. It may lasts for several hours, or even several days.
Hurts
The way you spoke to me hurts. Those harsh words you used hurts. It hurts to know you are being so insensitive at times.
It hurts to cry myself to sleep...though I can't sleep now.

2009 Resolutions
I always make new year resolutions year after year. However, I am sad to say that I always almost never fulfil them. But I've never lost hope. I still continue making them...hoping to fulfil them one day. ;)
So what are my 2009 resolutions?
So what are my 2009 resolutions?
- To exercise regularly. At least twice a week.
- To drink 8 glasses of water every day.
- To be able to be a good mum to my little angel inside my womb.
- To juggle being a wife, a mother, a daughter and a maid (ahem!).
- To always be able to countdown every new year with darlin'.
5 ambitious resolutions being made before the clock stroke 12 yesterday.
p/s-I am spending New Year cleaning our house ('til my back aches) while Peter watches Ben10 cartoon DVD on the couch! *grins
