Needed somewhere "nice" and new for them. Nice as in ambience. Last time it was a live kitchen, sit in front and see them cook few feet away, and got piano and singers.. that sort of stuff.

3rd was for hi-Tea. Offer ma. Just last 2 years. changed a lot. seems like.... not as upmarket as long ago.

It's just not the best la, but last time, food was better than now. Hi-Tea offer, just close one eye lor, for the price and ambience. Still edible la.WendyinKK https://www.blogger.com/profile/08266961453200555850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3525759908386821536.post-91075976853279888592012-01-30T23:17:54.097+08:002012-01-30T23:17:54.097+08:00Wendy,

Really expected the melt-in-my-mouth taste. And luckily i didnt pay for it, if not for such an expensive dish, i will surely scold n curse for weeks!

i liked the foie gras. but then like i said, once i know bout the animal cruelty thingy, i dont think i can ever order one again! ;)tanshuyinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16596428958401477114noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3525759908386821536.post-84386651013273375972012-01-30T22:08:40.944+08:002012-01-30T22:08:40.944+08:00I've dined in Shook a few times before and I&#...I've dined in Shook a few times before and I've got to say, it's not one of the best restaurants that YTL has.

I once had wagyu in a restaurant in Ipoh, well being a bit scroogy I ordered the 2nd grade one.. it tasted not much different than a sirloin! Aiyoyo!

But..... my perception about wagyu was totally changed when I was offered some to taste while shopping in Ben's Independant Grocer in MontKiara. That toothpick of wagyu tasted oh-so-good-I'm-in-heaven. Literally melted in my mouth, so juicy and delicious! My hubby asked me to buy one piece, but I asked him? Where to cook it? The next time if I want to eat wagyu again, I'll make a trip to KL, get my beef from BIG(with coldbox along) and bring home to cook, so that I don't waste my money. LOL. At least I get what I paid for.(forget abt petrol cost, LOL)

BTW, I never like liver, too gameyWendyinKK https://www.blogger.com/profile/08266961453200555850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3525759908386821536.post-65272119210160821692012-01-30T15:26:58.857+08:002012-01-30T15:26:58.857+08:00Hie Unknown,

But I am still glad and lucky I get to taste some of the world's most exotic food.

Btw, do u happen to blog hop or do i know u? ;)tanshuyinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16596428958401477114noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3525759908386821536.post-55879698154832588462012-01-30T15:12:29.948+08:002012-01-30T15:12:29.948+08:00Well, glad to hear that you did not have to pay fo...Well, glad to hear that you did not have to pay for it. I've always felt that Shook is just pompous and extracts the clientele's money from their noses. Though the food is exotic, I bet you can get it cheaper elsewhere. Like your disappointment with the beef, I generally find that I get disappointed with places that claim to serve exotic food but cannot deliver the standard. A lot of hotels and upper market eateries do not deliver the value that you pay for. Sometimes I feel it is such a rip-off - yet many pay for such meals but dared not complaint lest they be labelled as ignorant. As for me, so long as I enjoy it, and the food is cooked well - and not exorbitantly priced - justice is done!Simon Limhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17033949856664472557noreply@blogger.com
